Website Accessibility Audit

People test your site against WCAG 2.2 Level AA, not just scanners. You get a dated report, an issue log that says who fixes what, and a retest after the fixes.

Who it's for

  • You want to know what stops people with disabilities from booking, buying or getting in touch.
  • A customer, partner or procurement team asked about your site's accessibility.
  • You're planning a redesign and want to know what to fix first.
  • Your own developers will make the fixes and need a clear list.

What you get

  • Testing by people

We test your key journeys, like booking, checkout, forms and login, with a keyboard and screen readers, from the first page to the confirmation.

  • Automated scans

Scans of every page template catch what machines find well, like missing labels and low contrast.

  • A dated report

What we tested, when, how, and against which standard, plus the limits of the test.

  • A spreadsheet issue log

Every issue with its page, the WCAG criterion, how serious it is, the steps to reproduce it, how to fix it, how we'll check the fix, and who owns it: us, you, or a third-party vendor.

  • Journey test logs

A keyboard test log and a screen-reader test log for each key journey: what we did, what we expected, and what happened.

  • A walkthrough call

45 minutes to go through the findings with you and your developers.

  • A draft accessibility statement

A plain-language statement for your site, written to match what we actually tested.

  • One retest round

Within 90 days of the report, we retest the issues you've fixed and update the log.

How it works

  1. Scope

We agree which templates and journeys to test, and you sign a testing authorization.

  2. Test

Automated scans first, then manual testing with a keyboard, screen readers and zoom.

  3. Review

A senior reviewer checks every finding before it reaches you.

  4. Report

You get the report, the issue log and a walkthrough call.

  5. Retest

When you're ready, we retest the fixes and update the log.

How long it takes: About 2, 3 or 4 weeks for up to 10, 20 or 30 page templates, counted from kickoff: a signed scope, the testing authorization and any test logins.

What it doesn't include

  • Fixing the issues. That's Remediation, quoted after the audit, or your own developers can use the issue log.
  • Native mobile apps. We test your website at phone sizes, not apps from an app store.
  • Changing another company's code, like a booking widget or Shopify's checkout. If a problem is in another company's tool, we write it up for you to send to them. If it makes sense, we can also build you an accessible replacement.
  • A legal opinion. Your attorney decides legal questions.

Questions

What's a key journey?

A task a customer comes to your site to do, from start to finish: booking an appointment, buying a product, filling in an intake form or logging in.

Which screen readers do you test with?

JAWS and NVDA on Windows, VoiceOver on Mac and iPhone, and TalkBack on Android. Every key journey is tested with a keyboard only, then with JAWS or NVDA on Windows, and VoiceOver on iPhone. Across the audit we also check with VoiceOver on Mac and TalkBack on Android.

Do you test every page?

No. We test every page template you buy, plus your key journeys from start to finish. A fix in a template fixes every page built from it.

Can our own developer fix the issues?

Yes. The issue log tells them what to fix, where, and how. When they're done, your audit includes one retest round within 90 days.

What standard do you test against?

WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the current version of the international web accessibility standard. Which version applies to you legally is a question for your attorney.
