Demand-Letter Technical Support
The Accessibility Co, LLC is not a law firm. We provide technical accessibility services, not legal advice. If your business received an ADA website demand letter, we check each barrier it names and give your attorney a technical findings memo, an issue log and a fix plan.
Who it's for
- Your business received an ADA website demand letter, and you have an attorney.
- Your attorney wants to know, in technical terms, whether the barriers the letter names are on your site.
- Some of those barriers may be in a vendor's tool, like a booking widget or Shopify's checkout.
- You want a clear plan to fix what we find.
What you get
A check of every barrier named
We reproduce each barrier on the pages the letter names, with a keyboard and screen readers, and record the date, the browser and device, and screenshots or recordings.
A clear status for each one
Each barrier is marked as present, not reproduced, or in a vendor's code.
A sweep of your main journeys
A quick check of your main journeys, like booking or checkout, so you know about other barriers too.
A technical findings memo
Addressed to your attorney: what we tested, when, how, and what we found. Technical facts only, no legal opinion.
An issue log
Every barrier we found, with its page and the WCAG 2.2 criterion it relates to.
A fix plan
What to fix, in what order, and who owns each fix: your team, us, or a vendor.
How it works
Talk to your attorney first
Your attorney decides how to respond to the letter. We handle the technical facts.
Send us the letter
Share the letter, give us access to the pages it names, and sign a testing authorization. We reply the next business day.
We test
We reproduce each barrier the letter names, then sweep your main journeys.
Memo for your attorney
You get the findings memo addressed to your attorney, the issue log and a fix plan.
Fix, if you choose
Remediation and retest are separate work. If you start within 30 days, the $950 fee counts toward it.
How long it takes: 5 business days from the day we have access to your site and the letter. If your attorney needs it sooner, rush delivery is +20% on the project price, when we have the capacity.
What it doesn't include
- Legal advice of any kind, including whether the claim is valid or how to respond. Your attorney decides legal questions.
- Expert witness work, declarations, affidavits or testimony.
- Settlement advice, indemnity, or any payment toward a claim.
- Contact with the person who sent the letter or their lawyer. We work with you and your attorney only.
- Fixing the barriers and retesting them. That's separate work, quoted after the review.

Questions
Do you give legal advice?
No. The Accessibility Co, LLC is not a law firm. We give you and your attorney the technical facts. Your attorney decides how to respond to the letter.
Do we need an attorney?
Yes. We take on this work only for businesses that have their own attorney. Talk to your attorney first, then contact us about the technical work.
Can you promise the letter will go away?
No. No one can honestly promise a legal outcome. We tell you which barriers we found on the date we tested, and how to fix them. Your attorney handles the legal side.
Should we change our site before the review?
Ask your attorney before you change the site.
How do you check each barrier?
We follow the letter page by page, with a keyboard and screen readers. We test with JAWS and NVDA on Windows, VoiceOver on Mac and iPhone, and TalkBack on Android. For each barrier we record the date, the browser and device, and screenshots or recordings.
What if a barrier is in a vendor's tool?
We mark it as in a vendor's code in the memo and the issue log. Booking widgets, Shopify's checkout, chat and maps are controlled by the companies that make them, and we can't change their code. If a problem is in another company's tool, we write it up for you to send to them. If it makes sense, we can also build you an accessible replacement.
